47The Guru Granth Sahib, also known as Adi Granth is the religious scripture of Sikhism. ThisholybookwasfirstcompiledbythefifthSikh Guru, Arjan Dev in 1604 in the city of Amritsar. It is the only scripture that contains the works of its own religious founders, but also the writings of people from other faiths.The Tripitaka is the traditional term for Buddhist scriptures. The word %u2018Tripitaka%u2019 is made up of two words where %u2018tri%u2019 means %u2018three%u2019 and %u2018pitaka%u2019 means basket. This sacred text is divided into three sections which include the %u2018Vinaya Pitaka%u2019, the %u2018Sutta Pitaka%u2019 and the %u2018Abhidhamma Pitaka%u2019.The Agamas is the sacred text of Jainism. This holy book has a rich legacy of spiritual wisdom and history. The word %u2018agama%u2019 means authoritative scripture. The Agamas are the theological treatises and practical manuals of divine worship.
