                                    27Onake Obavva was a woman who fought with the forces of Hyder Ali single-handedly with a pestle in the kingdom of Chitradurga of Karnataka. She used to kill the soldiers one by one by hitting them on the head and then quietly moving the dead body without raising the suspicion to the rest of the troops.Kittur Chennamma was the Queen of Kittur. She was best-known for heading an armed rebellion against the British East India Company in 1824. She became a symbol of the independence movement in India. She foughtfiercelywiththeaidofherlieutenant,Sangolli Rayanna, but was ultimately captured and imprisoned at Bailhongal Fort where she died on 21 February 1829. Rani Lakshmibai was the Queen of the Maratha-ruled princely state of Jhansi. She was afamousleadingfigureoftheIndianrebellionof 1857. She defended Jhansi against the British troops when Sir Hugh Rose besieged Jhansi on 23 March 1858.
